Northeast Early College High School

At Northeast Early College High School, students are not only preparing for college tomorrow, but they are also attending college today. We offer students the opportunity to graduate with a diploma in one hand and an associate degree in the other—for free. Through an exciting and innovative partnership with Austin Community College, every student has the opportunity to enroll in college-level classes. In addition to earning college credit, students are preparing to compete in the workforce, while saving thousands of dollars in college costs.

In addition to core subjects such as math, English language arts, and social studies, we are proud to provide robust fine arts programs, including art, band, choir, guitar and theater classes. Students can take Advanced Placement Spanish classes beginning in sixth grade, giving them the opportunity to finish middle school with high school credits in a foreign language. We also offer technology and career classes, including Web design and culinary arts. Through the Project Lead the Way engineering class, students may apply to the engineering program at Northeast Early College High School.

We offer a world of opportunities—from arts and athletics to science and engineering—to help students achieve their greatest potential. Our teachers and team members create a challenging and nurturing environment for students to discover and develop their talents and skills. We also invest in career and technology classes in animation, web design and app development. Students in all grade levels explore opportunities in fields such as construction, energy, manufacturing, transportation, and robotics. We provide the English Language Development Academy to ensure all students are able to understand and master the content in their classes to meet the school’s high academic achievement standards.

Our teachers and school leaders create a challenging and nurturing environment for all students to develop their talents and skills. In addition to core subjects, we are proud to provide Pre-K, dual language, and after-school programs. Our tightly-knit school community offers a world of educational opportunities—from arts and athletics to reading and robotics—to ensure all children reach their fullest potential. Our campus also features a young scientist center for sixth-graders and the Pony Express, a school-wide postal service. To support the success of the whole child both inside and outside the classroom, we offer a range of programs that support students and encourage family participation, including extended day tutorials and the Early Learning Together and ESL classes for parents.

T.A. Brown Elementary School serves about 400 students in Pre-K through fifth grade. The school focuses on literacy, and we are proud to offer exemplary fine arts opportunities. Brown Elementary is part of the Lanier High School family of schools.

Graham Elementary School in East Austin is recasting the Three R’s of education from reading, writing, and arithmetic to ensuring the nationally recognized campus has the right people, right systems and right resources to ensure students succeed in college, career and life. For the national Blue Ribbon School, this means the right people must be in place to help students succeed—from teachers in the classroom and custodians on the campus to mentors and partners in the community. The right systems include efficient school procedures and campus operations. The right resources are the academic programs that help every student master every grade level. Each week, the principal monitors every student’s progress in math, spelling and reading to track progress and offer personalized guidance.

Hart Elementary

Hart offers students a world of opportunities—including fine arts and dual-language programs—to reach their fullest potential as they prepare for middle school and college, career and life. We also offer after-school programs in journalism and 4H youth development and mentoring programs. We work with families and community partners to coordinate a bike program to help students stay healthy and commute to and from school safely. Working with the City of Austin, we offer monitors and riders who pick up students at neighborhood apartment complexes or mobile home communities to take them to school and chaperone them after school.

Pickle Elementary School and the St. John Community Center offer education and community services to Northeast Austin neighborhoods. Our unique joint venture between Austin ISD and the city of Austin creates a shared space that houses our school, as well as a community clinic and public library. We foster a culture of cooperation, which promotes children’s intellectual, social, emotional and physical development. At Walnut Creek Elementary School, experienced educators create a challenging and nurturing environment for all scholars to develop their talents and skills as they prepare for college, career, and life. In addition to offering core subjects, we provide Pre-K, dual language, and fine arts programs. We also offer specialized instruction and STAAR tutoring for students who need additional assistance. We recognize parent engagement is critical to the success of students. We welcome families to campus regularly and encourages parents to be partners in their children’s education. Walnut Creek is home to the popular, award-winning Eagle Talk Show, the first academic, bilingual talk show in Texas.

Winn offers full-day Pre-K; a one-way, late-exit transitional bilingual program; free Boys and Girls Club after-school program for 1st – 5th and a campus-managed, tuition-based, after-school program for PreK – kinder. Our families are encouraged to be involved in their child’s education, and many participate in family literacy and mathematics nights. Our Montessori Program is one of roughly 550 Public Montessori Programs in the United States. As part of AISD’s commitment to innovative excellence in schools, we seek to make an authentic Montessori experience accessible to all children.
